President Proclaims October 2 as National Manufacturing Day
The proclamation, effective Oct. 2, 2026, calls on all Americans to honor manufacturing workers and innovators.

President Donald J. Trump issued Proclamation 11071 on October 2, 2026, designating that date as National Manufacturing Day. The proclamation appears in the Federal Register, volume 91, number 193, as FR Doc 2026-20629, filed on October 6, 2026, at 11:15 a.m.
The President highlighted a series of administration actions, noting that tariffs imposed to protect American workers have spurred the "greatest reshoring of American manufacturing in our Nation's history." He cited more than $11.2 trillion in United States and foreign investments across manufacturing, critical infrastructure, and technology sectors, and reported that 112,000 new factory construction workers have been building since he returned to office.
Trump also referenced the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which makes the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent and permits manufacturers to immediately expense 100 percent of factory, machinery, equipment, and domestic research and development investments. The law adds provisions such as No Tax on Overtime and, according to the proclamation, has helped raise the real wage for the average manufacturing worker by $2,500 annually.
The proclamation noted that manufacturing employment is rising, with 72,000 new manufacturing jobs added in 2026 so far. It framed these gains as part of a broader economic resurgence driven by American ingenuity and labor.
In concluding remarks, the President called upon all Americans to celebrate the entrepreneurs, innovators, and workers in manufacturing who are strengthening communities across the country.
