Nasdaq MRX Sets Fees for Liquid-Cooled Cabinets in Carteret Data Center
Co-location customers at Nasdaq MRX's Carteret, N.J., data center will face new installation and power fees beginning in Q4 2026.

On September 14, 2026, Nasdaq MRX, LLC filed a proposed rule change under Section 19(b)(1) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to amend Rule General 8. The amendment, which became immediately effective upon filing, authorizes fees for liquid-cooled cabinet installation, power installation, and ongoing power usage in the Exchange's expanded data center. Implementation of the fees is slated for the fourth calendar quarter of 2026, and the Exchange will notify customers via Trader Alert.
The rule establishes a $5,490 installation fee for a Nasdaq-provided liquid-cooled cabinet and a $2,500 fee for a customer-provided cabinet, with no recurring monthly charge for either option. These amounts mirror the existing NY11-4/-5 installation fee for standard cabinets, but are applied to the dedicated liquid-cooling enclosure in NY11-5.
Power fees are tiered by contract length. The installation charge consists of the standard NY11-4/-5 cabinet power installation fee plus an additional per-kVA surcharge: $1,800 per kVA for a one-year commitment, $1,650 per kVA for two years, and $1,500 per kVA for three years. Ongoing monthly fees are $1,000, $900, or $800 per kVA, respectively, based on the selected term.
These fees apply exclusively to liquid-cooled cabinets located in NY11-5, an expansion area of the Carteret data center. The service is optional; customers may elect to use a Nasdaq-provided cabinet, supply their own, or continue with traditional air-cooled cabinets that remain available throughout the facility.
The notice appears in the Federal Register, Volume 91, Number 188 (September 30, 2026), pages 61892-61896, FR Doc No. 2026-19948, Release No. 34-106491, File No. SR-MRX-2026-37. The Commission is soliciting comments from interested parties.
