SEC acknowledges Coinbase Derivatives' registration as a national securities exchange

The Securities and Exchange Commission issued an acknowledgment on September 8, 2026 that Coinbase Derivatives, LLC filed a Form 1-N to register as a national securities exchange pursuant to Section 6(g) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The notice appears in the Federal Register, Volume 91, Number 175, page 57944, and is identified as Release No. 34-106295; File No. 10-252; FR Doc No. 2026-18538.

Section 6(g) permits a board of trade designated as a contract market by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to register solely for trading security futures products, provided it does not serve as a marketplace for other securities. Under Rule 6a-4, registration becomes effective contemporaneously with the submission of the Form 1-N.

Coinbase Derivatives filed the Form 1-N on September 1, 2026. The Commission's Division of Trading and Markets will review the filing for completeness under Rule 202.3(b)(3).
