The Securities and Exchange Commission issued a 60-day notice (FR Doc No. 2026-21633, OMB Control No. 3235-0479) on October 20, 2026, announcing its intent to submit the existing Rule 15c2-7 information collection to the Office of Management and Budget for extension and approval.

Rule 15c2-7 (17 CFR 240.15c2-7) requires broker-dealers with correspondent relationships to disclose those relationships when entering quotations through an inter-dealer quotation system. The disclosure must be made public alongside the quotation.

The Commission estimates that each required disclosure takes .75 minutes (45 seconds) and that a typical broker-dealer will file one notice per year, resulting in a total annual burden of .0125 hours per respondent.

Written comments on the necessity, burden estimate, and possible improvements - including electronic collection methods - must be submitted to Austin Gerig, Director/Chief Data Officer, SEC, c/o Tanya Ruttenberg by email to [email protected] no later than December 22, 2026.

The notice indicates that, to date, no inter-dealer quotation system has received a Rule 15c2-7 filing, reflecting reduced prevalence of the market practices the rule was designed to address.
