The Internal Revenue Service has published a notice (FR Doc No. 2026-22384) announcing a new information collection under OMB Control No. 1545-NEW for the Individual Retirement Account Compliance Resolution System (ICRS). The collection is authorized by Revenue Procedure 2026-33 and uses Forms 15443 and the 15745 series.

ICRS establishes a voluntary correction program for individual retirement accounts and annuities, allowing custodians and owners to remedy eligible inadvertent failures caused by custodian or service-provider errors. The system also moves 60-day rollover waiver requests from private letter rulings under Rev. Proc. 2026-4 to ICRS.

The IRS is requesting written comments on the collection by January 4 2027. Comments should be addressed to Andres Garcia, IRS, Room 6526, 1111 Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20224, or emailed with "OMB Control No. 1545-NEW" in the subject line. For additional information, contact Jason Schoonmaker at (801) 620-6008.

The agency estimates 30,750 responses, each requiring 1 hour, 16 minutes, for a total annual burden of 38,909 hours. Respondents are asked to consider the necessity, accuracy of burden estimates, and ways to improve quality and reduce burden, including use of automated techniques.

The collection is classified as affecting business or other for-profit organizations.
