MEMX proposes 23-hour, five-day trading schedule
MEMX's rule change would let members and sponsored participants trade equities and UTP products 23 hours per day, Monday-Friday, effective immediately.

On September 9, 2026 MEMX LLC filed a non-controversial proposed rule change with the Securities and Exchange Commission (File No. SR-MEMX-2026-28). The Commission published the notice on September 14, 2026 (FR Doc No. 2026-18662) to solicit comments.
The amendment would permit trading of equity securities and UTP Exchange Traded Products on MEMX for 23 hours per day, five days per week. MEMX cites the recent approval of a similar proposal by Cboe EDGX and other exchanges that have received Commission approval for 23-hour trading, though none have yet implemented it.
Currently, MEMX accepts orders from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time across three sessions: Pre-Market, Regular (Market), and Post-Market. The proposal adds an Overnight Trading Session defined as the period from 9:00 p.m. on the night preceding a business day to 4:00 a.m. the following calendar day. MEMX will not launch the Overnight Session until its Equity Data Plans can collect, consolidate, process, and disseminate quotation and transaction information equivalent to regular-hour capabilities, and it will file a confirming rule change within 18 months of this filing.
The proposed rule change is effective immediately upon filing, and the text of the amendment is available in Exhibit 5 on MEMX's website. Interested parties may submit comments as provided in the notice.
