Nasdaq Texas Removes CORE FIX References from Equity 4 Rulebook
Effective Oct. 22, 2026, the amendment eliminates all CORE FIX mentions, affecting order entry protocol disclosures for participants.

On November 3, 2026, Nasdaq Texas, LLC filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission a proposed rule change (File No. SR-NasdaqTX-2026-051) to amend Equity 4 and remove all references to the CORE FIX order entry protocol. The filing, made on October 22, 2026, became effective immediately pursuant to Section 19(b)(3)(A)(iii) of the Act and Rule 19b-4(f)(6).
The amendment deletes references to CORE FIX in Equity 4 Rules 4702 (Order Types), 4703 (Order Attributes), and 4757 (Book Processing). A separate filing (File No. SR-NasdaqTX-2026-050) already removed CORE FIX mentions from Rule 4120, and the online disclaimer stating "References to 'CORE FIX' will be implemented in 2026" will be eliminated.
Nasdaq Texas noted that CORE FIX was added to the rulebook in September 2025, with implementation dates extended in December 2025 to the first quarter of 2026 and again in March 2026 to the end of 2026. Because the exchange was unable to generate participant interest, it will not deploy CORE FIX and will continue offering the OUCH, RASH, FLITE, and FIX protocols.
The exchange asserts that the change is consistent with Section 6(b) and Section 6(b)(5) of the Act, promotes a clear and accurate rulebook, and imposes no burden on competition. No written comments were received.
Interested persons may submit comments electronically or on paper, referencing file number SR-NasdaqTX-2026-051. The Commission may temporarily suspend the rule change within 60 days of filing if deemed necessary.
