SEC Extends Action Deadline for MEMX Event Contract Rule Change to Nov. 25, 2026
The extension applies to MEMX LLC's proposed rule change for securities event contracts, with the new decision deadline of Nov. 25, 2026.

On October 7, 2026, the Securities and Exchange Commission issued a notice designating a longer period for action on MEMX LLC's proposed rule change filed on August 11, 2026. The filing seeks to adopt Chapter 30 of the Exchange Rules to permit the listing and trading of securities event contracts on MEMX's options platform. The proposed rule change was originally published for comment on August 27, 2026.
Section 19(b)(2) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 allows the Commission to extend the standard 45-day review window up to 90 days. The 45th day after the notice's publication fell on October 11, 2026. The Commission now designates November 25, 2026, as the date by which it must either approve the rule change, disapprove it, or institute proceedings to determine whether disapproval is warranted.
The designation is made pursuant to Section 19(b)(2) of the Act and delegated authority of the Division of Trading and Markets under 17 CFR 200.30-3(a)(31). The notice references File No. SR-MEMX-2026-25 and Release No. 34-106626.
Comments previously submitted on the proposed rule change remain accessible on the Commission's website. The extended deadline provides the Commission additional time to evaluate the issues raised by the rule change.
