SEC extends deadline for NYSE Arca rule change on FLEX option cash settlement

The Commission has moved the action deadline to Oct. 5, 2026 for NYSE Arca's proposed amendment of Rules 5.32-O and 5.35-O.

On August 19, 2026, the Securities and Exchange Commission designated a longer period for action on NYSE Arca's proposed rule change (File No. SR-NYSEARCA-2026-68). The original 45-day deadline, which fell on August 21, 2026, is extended to October 5, 2026.

NYSE Arca filed the proposal on June 18, 2026, and it was published for comment on July 7, 2026. The amendment would modify Rules 5.32-O and 5.35-O to permit cash settlement for up to 50 non-ETF Flexible Exchange (FLEX) options.

The Commission received no comments on the proposal. Under Section 19(b)(2) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Commission must either approve, disapprove, or institute disapproval proceedings by the designated date.

The action is taken pursuant to Rule 19b-4 and delegated authority under 17 CFR 200.30-3(a)(31). The notice appears in the Federal Register as volume 91, number 162, page 54783 (FR Doc 2026-17205).
