SEC Extends Review Deadline for NYSE American Listing Rule Change
The extended deadline to November 15, 2026 applies to NYSE American's proposed market-capitalization listing rule and affected issuers.

On April 29, 2026, the Securities and Exchange Commission designated a longer period within which to act on NYSE American LLC's proposed rule change, and on June 2, 2026 it initiated proceedings to determine whether to approve or disapprove the change. The Commission now designates November 15, 2026, as the date by which it shall issue an order approving or disapproving the proposal (File No. SR-NYSEAMER-2026-17).
NYSE American filed the proposed rule change on March 6, 2026, seeking to amend Sections 1003 and 1009 of its Company Guide to require issuers to maintain a specified market capitalization to remain listed. The proposal was published for comment in the Federal Register on March 20, 2026.
Section 19(b)(2) of the Securities Exchange Act requires the Commission to issue an order no later than 180 days after the notice of filing, which would have been September 16, 2026. The Act permits an extension of up to 60 days when a longer period is appropriate; the Commission exercised that authority, moving the deadline to November 15, 2026, to allow sufficient time to consider the proposal and the comments received.
The notice appears in the Federal Register, Volume 91, Number 179 (September 17, 2026), page 58947, and is identified as FR Doc No. 2026-19039. The extension applies to the pending rule change and any issuers that would be subject to the new market-capitalization requirement.
