The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Community Development Financial Institutions Fund issued a notice (Docket No. CDFI-2026-0232) announcing renewal of the information collection for the Community Development Financial Institutions Program and the Native American CDFI Assistance Program financial and technical assistance applications. No material changes are proposed.

The collection, identified by OMB Control Number 1559-0021, targets 795 respondents annually, including for-profit businesses, nonprofit entities, and state, local and tribal organizations that participate in CDFI Fund programs. Respondents are expected to submit 495 financial assistance applications and 300 technical assistance applications each year.

The Treasury estimates each financial assistance application, including optional questions on Persistent Poverty Counties, Disability Funds and Healthy Food Financing Initiative, requires 140 minutes of respondent time, while each technical assistance application requires 90 minutes. The total annual burden is estimated at 69,300 hours for financial assistance applications and 27,000 hours for technical assistance applications.

Written comments must be received on or before December 29, 2026, and must be submitted through the Federal eRulemaking Portal at regulations.gov under the docket number above. Comments will be posted publicly and incorporated into the request for OMB approval.
