The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation published a notice of proposed information collection renewals covering three OMB control numbers - 3064-0143, 3064-0182 and 3064-0204 - and opened a comment period that ends on December 28, 2026.

Collection 3064-0143, titled "Forms Relating to Processing Deposit Insurance Claims," applies to private-sector individuals and entities maintaining deposits at insured depository institutions. The agency estimates a total annual burden of 78 hours across 18 line items. The Claimant Verification Form, with 101 respondents, accounts for 51 of those hours. The FDIC notes that the methodology and substance of the collection remain unchanged; the increase reflects a higher estimated number of respondents for claims filed after bank failures in 2023.

Collection 3064-0182, "Retail Foreign Exchange Transactions," targets insured state nonmember banks and state savings associations. The burden estimate totals 1,624 hours, comprising 1,332 hours for recordkeeping, 16 hours for reporting and 276 hours for disclosure requirements. The notice states that the estimated annual burden is unchanged from the 2024 estimate.

Collection 3064-0204, "Margin and Capital Requirements for Swap Entities," is directed at any FDIC-insured state-chartered bank that is not a Federal Reserve member or a state-chartered savings association registered as a swap dealer. The notice proposes renewal of this collection; a detailed burden estimate is not included in the excerpt.
