FDIC seeks comments on renewal of Volcker Rule reporting collection
The notice applies to private-sector entities and insured state nonmember banks and savings associations, with comments due by Nov 13 2026.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation has published a notice of proposed renewal for the information collection identified as OMB Control No. 3064-0184. The renewal is proposed without change and is subject to public comment.
The collection, titled "Volcker Rule Restrictions on Proprietary Trading and Relationships with Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds," is directed at the private sector and insured state nonmember banks and state savings associations. The agency estimates a total annual burden of 3,815 hours. Although the FDIC anticipates zero respondents in the upcoming cycle, a placeholder respondent count of one is retained to preserve the potential burden calculation.
The collection comprises a series of mandatory reporting and recordkeeping obligations under various sections of 12 CFR Part 351. Requirements include quarterly reporting under Section 351.20(d), annual CEO attestations under Section 351.20(c), and on-occasion disclosures and recordkeeping for trading desk documentation, hedging instruments, and customer facilitation vehicles. Some obligations are voluntary, such as the notice and response provision in Section 351.20(i). The table in the notice details the frequency of each response, the number of respondents, and the estimated time per response.
Comments must be submitted on or before November 13, 2026. Submissions may be made via the FDIC website, email, mail to Robert Meiers, Regulatory Counsel, or hand-delivered to the agency's guard station during business hours. All comments should reference OMB Control No. 3064-0184.
The proposed renewal follows an earlier notice published on July 31, 2026, which provided a 60-day comment period but received no comments.
