OCC renews CRA Qualifying Activity Confirmation information collection
Banks and other for-profit entities must respond to the renewed CRA Qualifying Activity Confirmation Request Form, with comments due by Dec. 7 2026.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has announced the renewal of its information collection titled "Community Reinvestment Act Qualifying Activity Confirmation Request Form." The collection bears OMB Control No. 1557-0356, and the agency is seeking public comment through a 60-day notice period that ends on December 7, 2026. A second notice with a 30-day comment period will follow, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act.
The form enables banks and interested parties to request confirmation that a proposed activity qualifies under the Community Reinvestment Act. The confirmation process was introduced in the 2020 final rule and incorporated into the 2021 CRA final rule, reflecting strong support from commenters on earlier advance and proposed rulemakings.
The OCC estimates that the collection will be responded to "on occasion" by 22 respondents, imposing a total annual burden of 418 hours. Commenters are invited to address the necessity of the collection, the accuracy of the burden estimate, and ways to improve the quality, utility, and clarity of the information, including potential automation to reduce respondent effort.
Comments may be submitted by email, mail, hand delivery, or fax, and must reference the agency name "OCC" and control number "1557-0356." All comments will be posted on www.reginfo.gov without alteration, and the public record will include any attached materials. The OCC encourages electronic submission where possible.
