The Securities and Exchange Commission issued a notice on Oct. 8, 2026 (FR Doc No. 2026-20670) extending the proposed collection of information for Rule 30b1-8 and Form N-CR. The request carries OMB Control No. 3235-0705.

A money market fund must file Form N-CR when a portfolio security defaults, an affiliate provides financial support, or the fund experiences a significant decline in its shadow price. In most cases, a brief summary filing is required within one business day of the event, followed by a more complete filing within four business days. Compliance with Rule 30b1-8 is mandatory for any fund that holds itself out as a money market fund under Rule 2a-7, and responses will not be kept confidential.

The Commission estimates an average of one report per year, requiring 10.5 burden hours and a time cost of $7,104 per report. The estimate is based on 4.5 hours of lawyer time at $744 per hour, 4 hours of financial-manager time at $731 per hour, and 2 hours of computer-programmer time at $416 per hour.

Comments on the information collection request must be submitted within 30 days of the notice's publication, no later than Nov. 9, 2026, either through https://www.reginfo.gov/public/do/PRAViewICR?ref_nbr=202605-3235-008 or by email to the address provided in the notice.

The notice is signed by Sherry R. Haywood, Assistant Secretary, and was dated Oct. 6, 2026.
