Nasdaq GEMX removes obsolete data-feed services and abandons POD offering
The amendment, effective immediately on Aug. 17, 2026, affects all GEMX market-data customers by deleting specific fiber-optic and wireless connectivity services and canceling a proposed POD service.

Nasdaq GEMX, LLC filed a proposed rule change (Release No. 34-106153; File No. SR-GEMX-2026-30) on Aug. 17, 2026 that immediately amends Rule General 8, Section 1(b). The amendment deletes several fiber-optic-delivered market-data connectivity offerings and related fee language, and it eliminates a previously proposed Proximity-On-Demand (POD) service.
The fiber-optic offerings slated for removal include connectivity to the Nasdaq Data Center for SIAC, CTS/CQS, OpenBook Ultra, and ArcaBook Multicast. The Exchange will terminate these services on Sep. 30, 2026 after providing existing customers with 90-days' notice. The offerings are being discontinued because they are subscribed to by fewer than three customers and are available from other vendors.
The amendment also strikes wireless connectivity services delivered via microwave or millimeter-wave networks. The deleted offerings comprise NYSE Equities (Arca Integrated), NYSE Equities (NYSE Integrated), BATS Multicast PITCH for BZX and BYX, Direct EDGE Depth of Book for EDGA and EDGX, and several CME multicast feeds. These services were terminated effective Aug. 31, 2025, with more than 90 days' notice to customers, and the related installation, monthly, and volume-discount fees are being removed.
In addition, GEMX is formally discontinuing the POD offering described in SR-GEMX-2024-16. The POD service, envisioned as a managed colocation solution, never attracted sufficient demand, no fee filing was made, and the service was never offered. The Exchange will not proceed with its implementation.
The changes introduce no new fees, obligations, or service restrictions and apply uniformly to all market participants. The Exchange states the amendment will not burden competition and will improve the accuracy and clarity of its rulebook.
