Federal Reserve Opens Comment Period on Hoosier Heartland Holding Company Acquisition

Public comments on the Trust's proposed 25.93% stake in Heartland State Bancorp are due by Sept. 10, 2026.

The Federal Reserve Board published a notice in the Federal Register (Vol. 91, No. 153, Aug. 11, 2026, FR Doc No. 2026-16310) announcing applications for formation, acquisition, and merger of bank holding companies under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956 and Regulation Y.

The notice lists a single application from Hoosier Heartland State Bancorp Employee Stock Ownership and Savings Plan Trust, Crawfordsville, Indiana, to acquire additional voting shares up to 25.93 percent of Heartland State Bancorp, thereby indirectly acquiring additional voting shares of Hoosier Heartland State Bank, also in Crawfordsville.

The public portions of the application and any related filings are available for immediate inspection at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and at the Board of Governors' offices. Interested persons may submit written comments to the Chicago Reserve Bank (Christopher Koopmans, Senior Vice President) or to the Board Secretary, Benjamin W. McDonough, 20th Street and Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20551-0001, no later than September 10, 2026.

Comments will be made publicly available without change, except that personal or business identifying information may be removed. Confidential information should not be included in comments. The Board will evaluate the application in accordance with the standards enumerated in the BHC Act (12 U.S.C. 1842(c)).
