Federal Reserve opens comment period on Meade Bancorp's BHC application

Public comments on Meade Bancorp's request to retain 26.74% of Bedford Loan & Deposit Bancorp must be filed by Sept. 21, 2026.

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System published a notice on August 20, 2026 (FR Doc 2026-17015) announcing that Meade Bancorp, Inc., of Brandenburg, Kentucky, has applied for approval under the Bank Holding Company Act and Regulation Y. The application seeks to retain 26.74 percent of the voting shares of Bedford Loan and Deposit Bancorp, Inc., thereby indirectly retaining voting shares of Bedford Loan & Deposit Bank, both located in Bedford, Kentucky.

The public portions of the application and any related filings are available for immediate inspection at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and at the Board's offices. Interested parties may also obtain the materials on an expedited basis by contacting the appropriate Reserve Bank or the Board's Freedom of Information Office.

Comments on the standards enumerated in the BHC Act (12 U.S.C. 1842(c)) must be submitted in writing to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, P.O. Box 442, St. Louis, Missouri 63166-2034, or electronically to the address provided in the notice. Submissions may also be sent to the Board of Governors at 20th Street and Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20551-0001. The deadline for comments is September 21, 2026.

All comments are subject to public disclosure and will be made available without alteration, except for removal of personal or business identifying information. The notice advises that confidential information inappropriate for public release should not be included in comments.
