The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) published a notice in the Federal Register (FR Doc No. 2026-12594) on June 23, 2026 announcing that it has submitted its generic clearance for the collection of qualitative feedback on agency service delivery to the Office of Management and Budget for review. The notice requests comments no later than July 23, 2026.

The collection, identified by OMB Control No. 1557-0248, is a generic information collection request that allows the OCC to solicit qualitative stakeholder feedback - opinions and perceptions about timeliness, accuracy, courtesy, and efficiency of its services - on an as-needed basis. The collection is limited to businesses or other for-profit entities, is voluntary, and is intended solely for internal service-improvement purposes.

The OCC estimates the collection will involve 22,537 respondents and impose a total annual burden of 8,850 hours, with responses occurring "on occasion." The agency characterizes the burden as low for both respondents and the government.

In a prior 60-day notice published on December 29, 2025 (90 FR 60857), the OCC received one comment objecting to renewal on the grounds that the collection duplicates OMB Control No. 1557-0199 and is insufficiently described. The OCC rejected that view, noting that generic clearances are a recognized PRA flexibility for customer-satisfaction surveys and focus groups, and that the collection meets the required conditions.
