OCC seeks comments on securities transaction recordkeeping renewal
The notice invites businesses, including national banks and Federal savings associations, to comment by June 1, 2026 on the renewal of OMB control number 1557-0142.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has issued a notice of request for comment on the renewal of its information collection titled "Recordkeeping Requirements for Securities Transactions." The collection carries OMB Control No. 1557-0142 and is classified as a regular review under the Paperwork Reduction Act.
The affected public is described as "Businesses or other for-profit." The collection supports compliance with 12 CFR parts 12 and 151, which require national banks and Federal savings associations to maintain transaction records for at least three years, provide customers with written transaction notices, and adopt written policies governing securities trading functions. Specific CFR provisions cited include 12.3, 12.4, 12.5, 12.7, 151.50, 151.70, 151.80, 151.90, 151.100, 151.140, and 151.150, among others.
The OCC estimates the burden of the collection at 1,497 hours annually, with an estimated 306 respondents responding on occasion. No comments were received to the prior 60-day notice published on February 20, 2026 (91 FR 8307). The agency continues to solicit input on the necessity, accuracy of burden estimates, and ways to improve or reduce respondent burden, including the use of automated techniques.
Comments must be received by June 1, 2026. Submissions may be made by email, mail, hand delivery, or fax to the Chief Counsel's Office, using the agency name "OCC" and the control number "1557-0142." The OCC will post comments on www.reginfo.gov without change. For further information, contact Shaquita Merritt, Clearance Officer, at (202) 649-5490.
