The Securities and Exchange Commission announced on June 4, 2026 that five individuals have been appointed to the Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee for four-year terms. The appointees will sit alongside the 15 current Commission-appointed members.

The new members are Anya Coverman, President and CEO of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (Washington, D.C.); Joseph Lucosky, Managing Partner of Lucosky Brookman LLP (Woodbridge, N.J.); Andrew Prystai, CEO and Co-Founder of EventVesta (Omaha, N.E.); Rodrigo Seira, Partner at Cooley LLP (Miami, Fla.); and Erik Syvertsen, Head of Asset Management and Chief Legal Officer at AngelList (New York, N.Y.).

In addition to the 15 appointed members, the committee includes three non-voting members designated by the SEC's Investor Advocate, the North American Securities Administrators Association, and the Small Business Administration, as well as an observer appointed by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

"I thank the new members for their willingness to serve on the advisory committee, which plays an important role in advising the Commission in our work to facilitate capital formation for entrepreneurs across the country," SEC Chairman Paul S. Atkins said.

The committee provides advice and recommendations on rules, regulations, and policy matters affecting small businesses and smaller public companies; additional information and prior meeting materials are available on the committee's webpage.
