SEC Extends OMB-Approved Collection for Form SF-3
The extension applies to issuers of asset-backed securities filing shelf offerings, with comments due by September 18, 2026.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget a request to extend the previously approved information collection for Form SF-3 (OMB Control No. 3235-0690). The extension governs issuers of asset-backed securities that register a public shelf offering under the Securities Act of 1933.
Form SF-3, codified at 17 CFR 239.45, is a mandatory registration statement that must be filed annually. The filing is posted publicly on the Commission's EDGAR system to provide investors with information about the shelf offering.
The Commission estimates each response requires approximately 1,380.50 hours. Of that, 25 % (345.12 hours) is performed internally by the issuer, yielding a total annual reporting burden of 6,557 hours for the estimated 19 annual responses. The remaining 75 % (1,035.38 hours) is performed by outside professionals at $600 per hour, creating an annual cost burden of $11,803,332.
Comments on the collection request must be submitted electronically at https://www.reginfo.gov/public/do/PRAViewICR?ref_nbr=202604-3235-020 or via email to the protected address no later than September 18, 2026, which is 30 days after the notice's publication.
The notice was dated August 14, 2026, and signed by Vanessa A. Countryman, Secretary of the Commission. FR Doc. 2026-16820 was filed on August 17, 2026.
