The Bureau of the Fiscal Service announced an extension of the currently approved information collection for the Authorization Agreement for Preauthorized Payment, Standard Form 5510. The notice appears in the Federal Register, Volume 91, No. 157, dated August 17, 2026, and is identified as FR Doc No. 2026-16726.

The collection is assigned OMB Number 1530-0015 and is classified as a regular type of review. It gathers data from remitters - individuals and corporations - to authorize electronic fund transfers from accounts at financial institutions for government agencies. The affected public includes business or other for-profit entities, individuals or households, and the Federal Government. The agency estimates 100,000 respondents, each spending about 15 minutes, for a total annual burden of 25,000 hours.

Comments on the collection must be received on or before October 16, 2026 to be considered. Submissions are to be directed to Bruce A. Sharp, Bureau PRA Clearance Officer, PO Box 1328, Parkersburg, WV 26106-1328, or the provided email address. The agency seeks input on the necessity and utility of the collection, the accuracy of burden estimates, ways to improve quality and clarity, and methods to reduce respondent burden, including automated techniques.

The extension is presented as part of the Treasury's ongoing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.
